Toy's Story
Life
Greetings, ghosts of my youth.. fellow mid life crisis victims... LOL I still maintain and firmly believe a good sense of humor is pre-required to be considered "human".. And persue your dreams.. we are our own biggest hindrance to our attainment in life, and degree of happiness settled for...
I am married to a wonderful lady, who grew up in Los Angeles.
My two "biological" children,(Don't you just love todays terminologies?), are grown and married and I have five wonderful grand-children, , (3 boys, 2 girls)..
I still make electricity for a living.. run a power plant with another Coconino High School Alumni.. Been a lot of places but could never leave Arizona... it's in my roots...
Sneaking overseas when the finances allow a vision of other places to happen. Russia, Cook Islands, Tahiti, and Philippines most recently.
I have decided that the Philippines is where I want to grow old at. 53 isn't old YET, suppose it depends on your perspective on life.
If the good Lord allows it, I have much planned to do in the Philippines.
An angel of a child there I hope to have as a godson. Poor as can be, yet SO good, and well behaved, manners unseen here in the states children.
The schools there have written on their walls "...Expand for more
virtues". Honesty, Respect, Morals, Truth, etc. Each with a famous quote or motivational saying to inspire that virtue in its students.
The people are friendly and have a precious spirit about them.
The weather there is pretty oppressive in the coastal jungle, like Viet Nam..
But up in the foothills of the mountain one can find a belt of climate that is JUST RIGHT! 1200 meters above sea level and it is absolutely PERFECT temp year round.
I will return there ASAP, to visit long time friends, and friends I made on the recent visit. And to make further preparations for my retirement there.
I will occasionally return to the states to visit family and friends here of course, as long as my health holds out, and politics don't become too oppressive.
Our "world" is undergoing massive sea changes. It is debatable whether these changes will be for the good. I see the changes as more oppressive, more controlling. BAD SCIENCE drives much of the current "trends".
I am hoping that a life in the Philippines can insulate my wife and I from some of the more insane directives being born by our elected fools.
I hope you all find peace in the latter years of your life, and an AFFORDABLE and dignified last leg of your race in life.
